last summer everyone looked like this.
i miss it.
the chubby cheeks.
the chunky thighs.
the baby soft fine hair.
they are all stretching, up to the sky, riding further down the block. staying at the neighbors houses longer. coming home when it's darker.
buying popsicle from the ice cream truck with their own, hard earned money.
bathings suits aren't fitting, sun dresses are being worn with leggings as tops.
and my heart beats a little faster when they want a hug, for i know the hugs won't live here anymore.
they too will go adventure and give me a call on a phone instead.
long sigh
and a smile
and just trying my hardest to give them really strong roots, for i am well aware that these big blue eyed ladies of mine, will trade them in for wings.
